Surgery Club
2016 - 2017

Caroline Andrews, President

I am from Charleston SC where I grew up on our family horse farm. I graduated from Clemson University where I competed on the Clemson Eventing Team with my horse Cupid. Working at a small animal referral hospital in the surgery department along with shadowing an equine sports medicine veterinarian planted the seed for my love of surgery. I really enjoy being around horses, but I am more interested in making small animal surgery my career. I hope to plan lots of hands on and informative events this school year for the club in order to give everyone a taste of how exciting surgery can be!

Katie Van Cott, Vice President

I'm from Long Beach, MS. I attended Mississippi State University where I got my bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. I have worked at a mixed small animal and large animal practice since I was a senior in high school and throughout college. I always really enjoyed assisting in surgeries, and that's where my interest in small animal surgery and medicine began. I strive to one day move back to my hometown and open a private practice.
Elizabeth Gregory, Secretary
I am from Easley, South Carolina, and I studied Animal and Veterinary Science at Clemson University. I've spent time in both large and small animal practices, but I want to practice small animal medicine, even though I have a love for dairy cattle. I have a particular interest in emergency and internal medicine, and I hope to complete a residency after graduating.
David Mills, Treasurer
I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi and have three other siblings. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.S. in biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. I worked as a surgery technician at the MSU-CVM before joining the veterinary program.
